4th Annual Keeping the Dream Alive Conference: Shifting the Undocumented Narrative from Surviving to Thriving

December 2, 2019 | CSU, Sacramento

Published: October 29, 2019

This year’s theme – “Shifting the Undocumented Narrative from Surviving to Thriving” – brings attention to the ways students navigate the challenges of undocumented status and achieve well-being despite status-imposed barriers. The conference will help reframe deficit-based approaches that emphasize the adversities and barriers imposed by undocumented status to examine more closely what it means to achieve thriving and well-being in the context of undocumented status. Panels and breakout sessions will further explore what social supports and advocacy efforts are needed in education, family, and community settings to help undocumented students and students from mixed-status families.
