The Center for m2Health at Palo Alto University is conducting a study that combines an online self-guided program for depression with weekly online therapist sessions delivered via chat or video. We are testing the effectiveness of this combination of online intervention options.

We are recruiting young adults (18-19 years old) who currently reside in California and experience depression to participate in the study. Given the increased need for mental health support during the COVID-19 age, we hope to reach young adults who are in need of support and who can benefit from this unique program.

Who can join this study?

We welcome young adults who are feeling low and sad and believe they might be experiencing depression. You will likely be eligible for this study if you are:

  • Between the ages of 18-19

  • Living in California

  • Fluent in English

  • Experiencing feelings like low mood, sadness or loss of energy

  • Own a smartphone with internet access

  • Agree to complete surveys and interviews
