Youth Innovation Idea Lab
December 6, 2019 | UC Santa Barbara
Are you from Santa Barbara, Kern, Ventura or San Luis Obispo Counties and between the ages of 15-25? Or are you an adult ally from the region who is passionate about improving student mental wellness? If yes, please email us to get more information about attending the Youth Innovation Idea Lab.The Idea Lab is imagined as an intensive, interactive, and free-thinking environment where adult allies will join with youth leaders to immerse themselves in a collaborative thinking process. You will be joining a state-wide movement that needs your expertise, vision and dreams of what youth mental wellness can look like. The workshop will result in the development of an innovative concept to increase preventative mental health services in schools using youth-led approaches.
The Idea Lab will be hosted at UC Santa Barbara from 11-3PM on Friday, December 6th and is a collaboration between the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission’s Youth Innovation Committee, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern, and San Luis Obispo counties.
Two additional Idea Labs will be hosted in early 2020 in the Sacramento and Shasta regions. The project will conclude with a Youth Innovation Summit where the results of the project will be showcased and celebrated.RSVP: To learn more or request an invitation, please email Shannon Tarter at firstname.lastname@example.org
